Sundance Saloon Sweetheart's Ball & Underwear Party

Our yearly Sweetheart’s Ball is on Sunday, February 14. We'll decorate Sundance Saloon in true Valentines Day fashion. And, we’ll see the return of the enormously popular Underwear Party!
Yes, we'll have special free coat check (clothes check?) for those of you who dare to dance in your underwear. There will plenty of hot bodies to keep the club warm. Note that participation in the underwear night is totally optional. (But if Uncle Rod can do it, so can you!).
If you’re a little shy but still want to participate, consider long underwear, or boxer shorts and a T-shirt. This night is meant to be a fun (and even a little silly) so please dress however you feel comfortable. We’ll have a great night of music and dance, so please come and enjoy yourself. And don't get a chill!
Basics Plus West Coast Swing Lesson Series

The prerequisite for this class is to know the WCS basics: push break, whip, sides passes. We'll build from there. Class will progress each Sunday. The instructor is Ken Gourley.
The cost for the entire 4-week series is $15. Note that this is in addition to the regular admission charge each week at Sundance Saloon. No one will be turned away for lack of funds: if you are unable to afford the extra charge, please let us know. Attendance is limited to 24 people. Green Room classes are not drop in. All students must preregister. To reserve your place, e-mail us (registrar@sundancesaloon.org) with the following information (1) name, (2) email address, (3) lead or follow.
Line Dance 101 Lessons
Every Sunday: 6:30 - 7:15 pm

Continuing indefinitely are our popular beginning-level line dance classes with a focus on novices and the line dance-challenged. We take 45 minutes to teach a dance, and move slowly enough for beginners to have a better chance at learning each dance. The same dance is taught two Sundays in a row to reinforce what you've learned.
We hope this addition helps those who have found our Main Room line dances too difficult, or that our regular classes move too quickly. Just drop on in (but please be on time!).

Sundance Saloon sponsors a Saturday night country-western dance as a part of the International Bear Rendezvous gathering in San Francisco. ALL ARE WELCOME! 7-8 pm: dance lessons; 8-8:30 pm: IBR contestant introductions; 8:30 pm - 12:00 am: open country-western dancing with DJ John Hoffman. General admission is $20, but it's just $10 for friends of Sundance Saloon with coupon.

Line Dancing in the Castro

Line dancing in the Castro continues on the third Saturday of the month. Join us at Magnet, 4122 18th Street (near Castro), San Francisco from 7:00 to 10:00 pm on Saturday night, February 20, for lessons and dancing, with a focus on contemporary line dances. Admission is free!
Oscar Night At Sundance Saloon
Sunday, March 7
Don't want to have to choose between the Academy Awards and dancing? Now you don't have to! Sundance Saloon presents the Academy Awards in its full glory on Sunday, March 7, beginning at 5:00 pm. Watch the Oscars on a big screen with your Sundance friends in the Green Room, and dance to your heart's content in the Main Room. We'll have lessons as usual in the Main Room from 5:30 to 7:15. Regular Sunday admission $5.
Sundance Saloon Supports Haitian Relief Effort
Sunday, January 17
Sundance Saloon raised about $1450 for the Rainbow World Fund's Haiti earthquake relief effort. In addition to individual donations collected on January 17, Sundance Saloon donated $506 which represented $2 from every paid admission that night.
Rainbow World Fund is an LGBT-based all-volunteer international humanitarian service agency based in San Francisco. Rainbow World Funds' disaster relief partner, CARE, was already on the ground from day one providing emergency food, safe water, plastic for shelter, blankets, and basic medicines.
It's never too late to donate: go to www.rainbowfund.org/donate and specify "Haiti." 100% of your donation will go towards life saving services.
