Intermediate East Coast Swing Series at Sundance Saloon
Sundays, May 6, 13, 20: 5:30-6:30 pm
Green Room
This intermediate east coast swing series will be taught by Ron Jenkins and Photis Pishiaras. In this progressive series of 3 classes, we'll assume you know the basics and we'll go from there. We'll progress each Sunday.
The cost for the entire series is $15. Note that this is in addition to the regular admission charge each week at Sundance Saloon. No one will be turned away for lack of funds: if you are unable to afford the extra charge, please let us know. Attendance is limited to 24 people. Green Room classes are not drop in. All students must preregister. To reserve your place, email us (registrar@sundancesaloon.org) with the following information (1) name, (2) email address, (3) lead or follow. We'll confirm.
Note: Class has started so we can't take any new students.

Flash Mob
Saturday, June 9
Mendell Plaza, San Francisco
Save the date for Saturday, June 9! We've been invited to have our line dance mob perform in Mendell Plaza next to the Bayview Opera House as a part of the community free afternoon concert series in the plaza.
We will perform the same Flash Mob sequence we did at the Stompede, with several walls of the following dances in order:
- Do Your Thing
- Bad Romance
- Chill Factor
- Dizzy
Here's the video from the Stompede in October. The entire sequence will only take 7-8 minutes. The idea will be to have more and more dancers join as the dance goes on: so you don't need to know the first, second or third dance - but as long as you can join by the last dance, great!
We'll have more information as the time gets closer.
Father's Day Ball at Sundance Saloon
Sunday, June 17
We're having our first ever Father’s Day Ball this year!
Please send us photos of yourself with your Dad, or if you're a Dad, one of you with your kids - and we'll show the photos on the big screen during the night. Please send your photos to: fathers@sundancesaloon.org. We recommend that photos be a minimum of 640 x 480 pixels in size. Photos should show both YOU and your father, or YOU and your children if you are a father yourself. Please identify the names and people in each of your photos. We will be labeling photos with names for our slideshow.
Please encourage folks to bring their Fathers, and for all our resident Fathers to attend - Fathers get in free this night!
Illuminating Sundance Project
What does Sundance Saloon mean to you? Elenie Opffer, professor of Communications Studies at California State University, Stanislaus, will be conducting interviews with Sundancers over the next few months to try to define what makes Sundance Saloon so special in our community. We would love for you to spend a few minutes of your time telling your Sundance stories and the impact it has had on your life. To participate, find Elenie at Sundance Saloon, or e-mail her at elenie@sundancesaloon.org.
Sundance Saloon Volunteers Needed
Did you know that Sundance Saloon is run entirely by volunteers? The managers, front door and coat-check staff, set-up crew, instructors, and DJs all donate their time to create this unique institution. It is the cumulative effort of dozens of volunteers that keep Sundance Saloon thriving and make it such a special place.
We are now recruiting new volunteers for the front door and coat-check, especially those who can commit to serving one hour a month on Sundays. If you can help us out, contact volunteer@sundancesaloon.org
