Castro Street Fair Volunteer Information
CASTRO STREET FAIR
Sunday, October 1: 11:00 am to 6:00 pm
NEW LOCATION: 18th Street near Noe
The Castro Street Fair is one of our favorite days of the year, when we get to dance in the street as a part of this great celebration of out LGBT community. We're back to our alternate location this year, on 18th Street near Noe. (The Castro Street Fair this year will not include the section on Market Street, so the smaller footprint has necessitated the shuffling of the entertainment stages.)
We need help with load-in, set-up (includes building our dance floor), boot-check, wranglers (who distribute flyers and promote Sundance Saloon), tear-down, and load-out.
Our most critical needs (as of 9/28/17):
- Set-up/dance floor build – 9:00 – 11:00 am
- **Boot-check – 4:30 – 6:00 pm – most critical**
- Wrangler – 3:00 – 4:30 pm
- Load-out – 7:30 – 9:00 pm
Required to sign up for a shift on-line.
If you volunteered for a prior Stompede, Castro Street Fair, New Year's Eve, or SF Pride, you already have an account in the Special Event volunteer system.
You do not have to use this system to volunteer. You can contact the volunteer coordinator with your name, e-mail address, cell phone number, and shifts desired, and we will get you signed up. Or call us at 415-820-1403 and leave a message with the above information.
Special note to Sundance Saloon volunteers: The Sundance Saloon volunteer system is different and separate from our Sundance Special Event volunteer system. We suggest that you use the same User ID (e-mail address) and password for both systems.
If you volunteered since 2011 for a prior Stompede, Castro Street Fair, New Year's Eve Dance, or SF Pride, you already have an account in the Special Event volunteer system.
