We are presenting outdoor dancing in the Castro again, and it's better than ever! Events are no longer allowed at Jane Warner Plaza, so we have moved to Noe Street, between Market and Beaver, where we have more room and the ability to lay down a dance floor.
We need your help for set-up and tear-down, and we also need event monitors whose main job is to watch over the barricades at both ends of the block and move them if needed for emergency vehicles. The latter is a requirement by the City and our permit is conditional on having monitors.

Volunteer Instructions
SET-UP and TEAR-DOWN
Set-up and tear-down volunteers will primarily help build and deconstruct our new snap-together portable dance floor. They will also transport it on carts to our storage location three blocks away.
Please wait for verbal instructions if you have not worked with this floor yet, so that we don't damage it. The following videos may be helpful.
IMPORTANT! When taking the floor apart, never pull up on the floor so that it bends towards the smooth side. To separate the panels, wait until a row is separated with the broomstick, and then lift the floor at the seam, so it bends rough side to rough side. Two people lifting on each side works well. The floor will easily separate. Then stack smooth side to smooth, and rough to rough.
STREET MONITOR
Street monitors are required by the City of San Francisco to watch the barricades at both ends of the block. Vehicles are not allowed through under any circumstances except for emergency vehicles. Listen for sirens and be prepared to quickly move cones out of the way for emergency access. You are supposed to walk emergency vehicles through the fire lane, but they usually just drive through without you.
